When we step away from our regular lives and throw ourselves into road-trip mode, we get to fully enjoy the beauty of the world around us. So many of us are going, going, going, and often we don’t take time to SLOWWW down. Road trips are a great way to reconnect and rebalance our lives, and by the looks of Taylor and Karlie’s photos, they are def enjoying the great outdoors!
+ We have to, like, save the environment.
Sometimes getaways are the best thing to remind us of just how lucky we are. From the pristine oceans to the magical mountains, we are quite lucky to live on such a beautiful planet! Traveling around (in our Prius, duh!) often opens our minds to the importance of preserving the world around us. When we get out there, and enjoy it, we get a better understanding of why we must advocate to help keep Mama Earth healthy. Even a basic thing like recycling is a great first step! According to our buddies over at DoSomething.org, “recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy to listen to a full album on your iPod.”
+ Friends are forever — as long as they don’t suck.
Road trips often are done with a bunch of friends, and you learn quite quickly how annoying being trapped in a car with other people can be. Although you love your friends, you always have that one friend who won’t shut up, amirite? So I think long road trips are good for us because we can use them to learn how to properly behave. If you talk too much, you quickly will learn how to tame that beast down. Also, you can learn how to be more patient with others and how to share things, like family stories and your sleeping bag or bag of Doritos.
